Why we use your information and our legal basis

Children’s data

We run junior programmes for children from age 5. Where a member is under 18, we rely on the consent of a parent or guardian to collect and use their information, and we only collect what is needed to deliver the programme safely. Parents and guardians can access, correct or ask us to delete their child’s information at any time by contacting us.

Our chat assistant

Our website includes an AI chat assistant to answer questions about the gym. Messages you type are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, purely to generate a reply. Please do not enter sensitive personal or health information into the chat. Replies are generated automatically and may not always be accurate — for anything important, please contact us directly.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run BLAST Fit, and only as needed:

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or an adequacy decision.

How we protect your information

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as needed for the purposes above. Membership and fitness records are kept while you are a member and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted or anonymised. Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your query. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see your rights below).

Cookies and similar technology

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our website stores a single random identifier in your browser’s local storage so we can count visits without identifying you. The members area stores a temporary login session in your browser while you are signed in. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email blastfitt@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to help first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes — for example, before introducing advertising tracking — we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know.
